As Horror Channel bring their werewolves season to our TV screens this February, we thought it was high time we celebrated our love of the Lycanthrope here at Grimm towers too. And thus our WEREWOLVES movie marathon was born (somewhat deformed with sharp teeth, claws and fur!)
Join us for the classics – AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, (1981), DOG SOLDIERS (2002) and THE HOWLING (1981) – with a very special North West premiere screening of ANOTHER WOLFCOP (2017) rounding off the evening for a little light relief! We’ll also have a Grimm stall selling lots of horror goodies and competition prizes on offer throughout the evening.
This event is sponsored by THE HORROR CHANNEL.
AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON: Two American college students are backpacking across the Yorkshire Moors when a mysterious unknown animal attacks them. One is killed, the other survives with a bite. The local townspeople are unwilling to acknowledge the truth about the creature. The surviving student is plagued with horrible nightmares of his mutilated friend, who warns him that he is becoming a werewolf.
DOG SOLDIERS: A British squad is sent on a training mission to the Highlands of Scotland. Ignoring the childish “campfire” stories heard about the area, they push on with their mission until coming across the bloody remains of another squad. With two mortally wounded men, they make their escape with the help of zoologist Megan. What started as a routine training mission turns into a battle for their lives against the most unlikely enemies they could have expected – werewolves.
THE HOWLING: In Los Angeles, TV journalist Karen White aids the police in their investigation of serial killer Eddie Quist. Eddie is shot by officers, but Karen is left traumatised after the encounter. Her doctor recommends that she attend an isolated psychiatric retreat, the “Colony”, but it soon becomes clear that the other residents are not what they seem. After nights of being tormented by unearthly cries, Karen ventures into the forest and makes a terrifying discovery.
ANOTHER WOLFCOP: Alcoholic werewolf cop Lou Garou is back in this outrageous comedy-horror sequel to 2014’s cult favourite WolfCop. Lou’s liquor-fuelled lunar outbursts are seriously testing his relationship with his partner, an old friend has mysteriously reappeared with a bizarre secret to share, and a villainous entrepreneur looking to transform the town has set up a nefarious new venture.
