‘The Grudge’ Writer Set To Direct Horror Series Based on Robert McCammon’s ‘Speaks The Nightbird’

Deadline have exclusively shared news that FX could potentially be developing Robert McCammon’s horror novel Speaks The Nightbird into a series with Unfriended: Dark Web’s Stephen Susco directing.

The bestseller tells the dark and chilling tale about a witch-hunt in the seventeenth century Carolina colonies. The series centers around the main character Matthew Corbett.

Wolper Organization’s Mark Wolper, Kevin Matusow for The Traveling Picture Show Company, Shay Prentice and Kevin Nicklaus will produce.

As well as writing and directing Unfriended: Dark Web, Susco also penned The Grudge & The Grudge 2.
